An interesting take on Maria’s serve. Indeed, comparisons to Safina and Dementieva are not good. Those two have ridiculous serve problems, which are showing up in Maria’s double faults and low service percentage in big matches. When the pressure is on, a big toss…everything has to be perfect…there’s a lot of effort…when nerves creep in, so much can go wrong. When Maria’s serve is on…it’s a weapon…but it breaks down so easily.
