Se Ri Pak 2012 US Women’s Open Promo

Se Ri Pak winning the 1998 US Women’s Open at Blackwolf Run, the site of the 2012 USWO, changed the LPGA like nobody…NOBODY…has changed the membership any golf tour in the world. For all of Tiger Woods’ accomplishments, the PGA still is nothing like the LPGA after Se Ri. She was not the first Korean on the LPGA Tour, nor even the first winner, but her US Women’s Open win in 1998 inspired a legion of young Koreans to play golf and set their sights on America and other tours around the world, including future US Women’s Open champions Inbee Park and So Yeon Ryu. There is even a statue in Korea commemorating Se Ri’s clutch shot on 18 while standing in water.
