Lydia Hall Leads Anna Nordqvist By One At Dubai Ladies Masters; Carling Coffing Remains In Contention

Lydia Hall of Wales birdied five of her first eight holes in the second round to move from 2-under at the finish of day one to 7-under before she made the turn. Unfortunately, she gave one back on 9, where she found the water, and also on 10 before rebounding with birdies on 17 and 18. Following right behind her is LPGA Major winner Anna Nordqvist of Sweden. Looking to end her year on a high note, she shot a clean 4 birdie, no bogey 68 to sit a 6-under and one shot back of Hall. Nordqvist took advantage of the long holes, birdying three of the four par 5s.

Carling Coffing

Big Break winner Carling Coffing continues to have an impressive tournament. Her 1-under second round has her at 3-under overall, tied for 7th. Moving in reverse were first round leader Florentyna Parker and defending champion In-Kyung Kim, both of whom stumbled with 3-over scores. Parker is now at 2-under, tied for 10th while Kim falls to even par overall, tied for 20th. Michelle Wie shot even par, with a single birdie and bogey, and is tied for 16th at 1-under overall. American teen star Alexis Thompson is at 3-over for the tournament, tied for 43rd. In the race for LET Order of Merit honors, Laura Davies has a lot of work to do. She is tied for 48th at 4-over. If Davies cannot manage a top two finish, Lee-Ann Pace will win the Order of Merit.
