Iben Tinning, 2010 Dubai Ladies Masters Champion
Congratulations to Denmark’s Iben Tinning who won her sixth LET title at the 2010 Dubai Ladies Masters. The 2005 LET Player of the Year and Order of Merit winner and 2003 LPGA Q-school winner used four birdies against one bogey to fire a final round 69, separating herself from third round co-leader Melissa Reid, who shot even par the final round for a third place finish, and Anna Nordqvist, who finished two shots back in second place after a final round 70. Tinning has announced this will be her last professional tournament. If that holds true, what a way to go out. So congratulations not only on a great win, but on a wonderful career.
Carling Coffing
Big Break winner Carling Coffing was 1-over 74 for her final round, but held on to finish tied for 22nd place. Although she finished the tournament 75-74 after opening 70-71 and looking at a possible top 10 finish, I am not disappointed in a T22 finish. That is a lot more than I anticipated pre-tournament. She finishes in the money and shows she can play with the best in the world. Speaking of money, 5% of all of her earnings this year are being donated to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Carling was diagnosed with diabetes at age 5 herself. Michelle Wie shot the low round of the day, a clean 5 birdie, no bogey 67, which lifted her into a tie for 6th. Lee-Ann Pace won the LET Order of Merit as Laura Davies could not secure a top two finish.
