Zheng Jie Drops Out Of Exhibition Match In Hong Kong And Upcoming Hobart International With Sore Left Wrist, Is Questionable For Australian Open

Zheng Jie

2010 Australian Open semi-finalist Zheng Jie has pulled out of an exhibition in Hong Kong citing and injured left wrist. She also pulled out of the upcoming Moorilla Hobart International. She had surgery on her wrist in September. It would be a shame if she didn’t have a chance to repeat the run to the semi-finals at Melbourne. It was thrilling to watch her become the first Chinese player to reach an Australian Open semi-final. She was joined in the semi-final by countrywoman Li Na, who won her quarterfinal after Jie Zheng has won hers, becoming the second Chinese player to reach the Australian Open semis. Li Na became the first Chinese player to be ranked in the WTA top 10.
