Kim Clijsters
Fan favorite Kim Clijsters (no, she’s not pregnant, Todd Woodbridge!) continued to roll at the Australian Open, taking out Carla Suarez Navarro 6-1 6-3 in 62 minutes. It was another dominating performance by the Belgian, who broke her opponent five times, ripped 21 winners. All while pregnant…well…
In non-pregnant news, Vera Zvonareva and Samantha Stosur also advanced, while Serbia’s Jelena Jankovic fell to China’s PENG Shuai 7-6 (3) 6-3. Jelena is my second favorite WTA player, next to Clijsters, but I am not really surprised at her flameout down under. She is a super talented player, but is prone to coming up short in the really big tournaments, like the Grand Slams. I really hope that one day Jelena will break through, but for now it’s on to Roland Garros for the former world #1.

The Klijsters story was my favourite. I blogged about it earlier! Loving the tennis!
