Following the drama of her upset of two-time defending champion Vera Zvonareva in the semifinal, Danieal Hantuchova defeated Sara Errani of Italy 6-0 6-2. The buzz post-final was still centered around the Zvonareva semifinal, which Hantuchova viewed like a final.
“The match with Vera was a little final I would say, but I have to give credit to Sara, she played well the whole tournament,” Hantuchova added. “I hope to come back to Pattaya City. I didn’t have time to see anything of Thailand, so hopefully I come back not just for the tournament, but also holidays!”
It was Daniela’s fourth WTA singles title, and the first in nearly four years.
