I am so happy Yani is giving money to a charity that helps with potable water. Lack of food, malnutrition and shortages of potable water lead to an estimated 25,000 deaths per day. Malnutrition and food/water problems in our world don’t get 24/7 news coverage, but on the day on write this, February 18th, 175,000 people have died of hunger, malnutrition and contaminated water-related causes since the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. Don’t get me wrong BOTH issues are worthy of donations and assistance, and food and water is an issue in Japan right now as well. I’m simply pointing out that there are curable ills like hunger, malnutrition and lack of potable water which kill millions every year but don’t get a week of round the clock coverage on MSNBC, Fox and CNN.
