In a scenario reminiscent of baseball player Kendry Morales breaking his leg in a celebration after a walk-off Grand Slam, Carol Lewis, mother of 2011 Kraft Nabisco Championship winner Stacy Lewis, suffered a fractured fibula during the traditional celebratory leap into Poppie’s Pond. Husband Dale Lewis said his wife hit her leg on the bottom of the pond. She was taken to Eisenhower Medical Center for treament.

  1. This is an amazing story, you have to wonder if this will change their policy moving forward on allowing the winners to jump in. I hope not as it is a pretty coll tradition and unique in golf.

    • I agree. I also hope they do not change to tradition. Maybe they can determine where the water is deepest and have them jump there…also limit it to player and caddy…
