Rafael Nadal, David Ferrer Advance In Quarterfinals At 2011 Barcelona

Rafael Nadal showed again why he is the King of Clay in defeating Gael Monfils at the 2011 Barcelona Open Banco Sabadell, 6-2 6-2. Monfils had the athleticism to run down shot after shot, but just doesn’t have the tools on clay to fire back shots that would cause Nadal any concern. Also advancing were David Ferrer, Nicholas Almagro and Ivan Dodig. Ferrer had an injury issue with his leg during his 6-3 6-3 win over Jurgen Melzer. Hopefully, he will be fit moving forward, especially should he get another shot at Nadal in the final.
