Hope Solo throws out first pitch at Cubs game
Soccer star Hope Solo will join fellow stars of the United States Women’s National Team Abby Wambach and Alex Morgan to run in the 2011 Chicago Marathon. 13 runners will be chosen to run with the trio of soccer stars for 2 mile intervals. To apply please visit the Bank of America Chicago Marathon Facebook Page. It has not yet been determined what length intervals Hope, Abby and Alex will run. All 13 runners and the soccer stars will cross the finish line together. Most importantly, each runner will have $5,000 donated to a charity of their choice. In 2010, the Bank of America Chicago Marathon raised $12 million for charity.
She is still not revealing whether she will participate in the upcoming season of Dancing With The Stars, nor is she disclosing the nature of her photoshoot, if there was one, with ESPN the Magazine, specifically if it was a nude shoot. I give her credit, she is creating buzz with her refusing to confirm or deny any rumors, no matter how tricky interviewers get to try to get her to slip and confess.
As you can see from these photos, while Hope was in Chicago she threw out the first pitch at a Cubs game. In fact, she actually threw a strike, an oddity for Cubs pitchers this year. The Cubs would go on to lose to the St. Louis Cardinals 6-2. Perhaps Cubs manager Mike Quade should have left Hope in the game. 🙂
