2011 Solheim Cup Pre-Tournament Gala Dinner, More Interviews

Michelle Wie arrives for Gala Dinner

I love all the pomp and circumstance with the Solheim Cup; not because it has anything to do with the golf that will soon follow, but because it goes to demonstrate how important this event is to all involved. For one of the few times in the sports year, women’s golf is showered with the glory the game and players deserve. Louise Solheim was also named an honorary member of the Ladies European Tour.

It’s also nice to see Annika Sorenstam whenever the opportunity arises. She’s an assistant to Alison Nicholas this time, but it seems only to be a matter of time before she one day captains a European team. Luckily for the US squad this year, Annika is not playing (although even if she were, I would still pick Team USA to win).
