Annika Sorenstam, Morgan Pressel at 2007 Solheim Cup
Morgan Pressel and Annika Sorenstam will comprise the first-ever women’s team at the ADT Skills Challenge on 11.7.11. Annika was the first woman to compete in this event in 2004, finishing 6th. The Annika-Morgan team will take on defending champions Nick Price and Mark O’Meara, Nick Faldo and Rocco Mediate, and Jerry Kelly and Zach Johnson. Challenge categories include long drive, , mid-iron, bunker shot, chip shot, trouble shot and short iron. Natalie Gulbis teamed up with former NFL quarterback John Elway to win in 2007. Paula Creamer, who first competed in the ADT Skills Challenge as an individual in 2005, finished 2nd with former NFL wide receiver Sterling Sharpe in 2006. Will Annika and Morgan be the first all-female team to win? I certainly hope so! 🙂

Two really nice girls to nice to be fed to the wolves
Maybe…we’ll see…this is a skills competition…they won’t win the long drive, but the other events they have a chance. Remember, Natalie Gulbis once won this teaming up with an NFL football player. Baseball player Mark McGwire once won this as an individual, beating pros Greg Norman, Colin Montgomerie and Padraig Harrington, among others. This is more like a Big Break style event. They might not win, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t finish last either.
