Virada Nirapathpongporn Writes Bangkok Post Article About Brittany Lang

Virada at forefront, Brittany on the far right in the back

From one Duke Blue Devil to another, 2002 NCAA Individual Champion Virada Nirapathpongporn wrote an article in the Bangkok Post about 2004 NCAA Freshman of the Year Brittany Lang.

I think she is really close to bringing it all together. Remaining positive and patient will be the final ingredients as Brittany goes for her well-worth-the-wait first victory, because as far as skills are concerned, they are already all there. – Virada Nirapathpongporn

I am still bummed that Virada has decided to retire. She was my favorite player. But I don’t mind reading her articles. I hope she continues to write.

I couldn’t open the link to Virada’s article, although I’m sure she was very kind and supportive of Brittany, so all I can say is that I’m also sad to hear that Virada has decided to retire.

I met Virada in Springfield, IL years ago, and was very impressed with her skills on the course, and even moreso with her overall personal attitude and demeanor. She is simply a nice person to be around. I hadn’t been aware that Virada and Brittany had played for Duke at the same time, or I’d have asked after Virada when I caddied for my uncle in Brittany’s Pro-Am foursome a couple of years later in Springfield, again at the State Farm Classic.

Best of luck in whatever you decide to do away from the golf course Virada, but just in case you decide to come out of retirement, play again in the states, and find yourself in need of a caddy, don’t hesitate to drop me a line. : )
