While tennis might just be a dying sport in the United States, the tours are doing very well globally. The WTA has just extended its contract with Tennis Channel through 2016. Tennis Channel also has agreements in place through 2022 with Roland Garros and 2023 with Wimbledon. Television viewing is up 73% while attendance is up 12% at Premier events. Prize money is up 8%. Not surprisingly, WTA CEO Stacey Allaster has had her contract extended through 2017.
