It’s been a bit hard to remember that Jiyai Shin was the player who finished 2010 ranked #1 in the world; that she went down to literally the last hole in 2009 in barely losing 2009 Player of the Year to Lorena Ochoa. After a close call at winning the 2011 Kia Classic, ultimately won by Sandra Gal, Jiyai has had a year that does not match her previous standards. She has had injury and swing change issues, but remains a threat any time she tees it up. There are only a few more events in 2011. Can she salvage a win out of this season. If she can, maybe it will be at the 2011 Mizuno Classic, where she is the defending champion.
