Due to rain washing out the first round, the 2012 World Ladies Championship Salonpas Cup has been shortened to 54 holes. There were a few groups that made it to the course but ultimately the JLPGA decided to cancel the first round. A lot of JLPGA events are 3 rounds anyway, so although having a Major with 4 rounds is preferable, 3 rounds in the context of a normal JLPGA tournament. Here are a few pics from the rained-out first day of play.

Sorry to see that they lost a round due to the weather. I sometimes think three rounds can be more exciting as the scores stay a bit more compressed.
Yes…I’m not too disappointed either…a little, only because it means if you fall behind you might not have time to catch up…but on the other hand, it can be more exciting for the reason you said…a lot of people will have a chance to win the last day…unless somebody goes nuts in the 2nd round 🙂
