A week after the LPGA completed their Sybase Match Play Championship, the KLPGA followed with the 2012 Doosan Match Play Championship. Don’t worry. To my knowledge there were no slow play penalties affecting the outcome! Instead, Char Young Kim won her 2nd KLPGA title…and in back to back fashion. Char Young won the 2012 Woori Ladies Championship last week for her maiden victory. She becomes the first KLPGA player in 2012 to win multiple times, although the season does have a long way to go. I’m sure 2011 KLPGA Player of the Year Ha Neul Kim would like to join that club before the season is over. As it stands, Char Young’s 1-up victory over Yeon Ju Jung puts her atop the KLPGA Money List for now. It was a tight match, as on multiple occassions Char Young jumped out to 1-up leads only to have Yeon Ju catch her. The match seemed locked in a see-saw struggle. Finally going back to 1-up on the 16th hole, Char Young was able to hold off Yeon Ju for the win.
