LPGA’s Paige Mackenzie Speaks At 2012 National Association Of Professional Women (NAPW) National Networking Conference

LPGA player Paige Mackenzie spoke at the 2012 NAPW National Networking Conference back in May. The former #1 ranked amateur by Golfweek, Paige is like all of the other LPGA professionals, essentially an independent contractor. That might be oversimplification, but each player is responsible for marketing their own brand, themselves, and whatever products they sponsor. Players have to prepare and network for life after their time on tour, particularly those who are not among the elite stars whose names sell themselves. Perhaps the best thing that Paige did while she was at the University of Washington wasn’t setting the all-time record for top 10 tournament finishes or being named an NGCA All-American. Maybe the best thing the high school National Honor Society member (3.97 GPA) and NCGA All-Scholar Athlete did was graduating from college with a Bachelor’s degee in Business.
