Petra Kvitova Advances In 2nd Round Of 2012 New Haven Open At Yale; Caroline Wozniacki Still Perfect

Is Petra Kvitova the player to end Caroline Wozniacki’s perfect run at New Haven?

Caroline Woniacki ran her record to 19-0 with a second round win over Sofia Arvidsson at the 2012 New Haven Open at Yale. Caro is the 4-time defending champion, having won this event every year from 2008 to 2011. She has never lost a match at this tournament, a perfect 19-o so far. But also advancing today was Petra Kvitova, who is a big threat to that unbeaten streak. Of course, first Caroline will need to get by Dominika Cibulkova in her next match. Caroline leads the head to head 7-3 but they have split the last 4 matches 2-2, with the last 2 matches going three sets. Dominika is known for raising the level of her game against top players. In fact, if she played every match like she plays against the elite players, she would be a top 10 fixture.
