Former #1 Jiyai Shin Moves Back Into Top 5 Of Rolex Rankings After 2012 Women’s British Open Win

Jiyai Shin

Jiyai Shin moved up 5 spots in the Rolex Rankings to number 5 following her win at the 2012 Ricoh Women’s British Open, her second Major, both WBO wins. Jiyai is a former world #1 but has struggled with physical ailments the past year or so. With back to back wins, she certainly seems back to being the player she was a couple of years ago. There are a lot of great South Korean women golfers, but IMO the one with the most chance of following Se Ri Pak into the Hall of Fame is Jiyai Shin, if she can stay healthy.

  1. Jiyai Shin has actually moved up to number five in the Rolex Rankings after the WBO. The updated rankings did not come out until today. She was in tenth place following her win at Kingsmill.

  2. The rankings weren’t updated until today, so the list you posted is actually a week old. Sorry. 😦

    • Thanks! Hahaha! I screwed up…I am sure it won;t be the last time…hey, maybe I should do a story this week titled, “Michelle Wie Vaults To Top Spot In Rolex Rankings!” Think anybody would notice? Just kidding of course! Got a good laugh from my mistake! 🙂

  3. Besides the change in the Rolex Rankings, I do want to say how much I like the site. Great writing and the best pictures. Keep up the outstanding work. You have also made me more of a tennis fan.

    • Thanks! You know something…I think I might leave it like that…it is a good reminder to myself that nobody is perfect! LOL! But thank you for pointing out the error…maybe I’ll change it…it only takes a change of the title and board,

      • I went ahead and changed it…I might as well keep things accurate…but I did get a good laugh at my mistake! Thanks again! I appreciate the error being pointed out. And to anybody else who reads this, I welcome anybody to point out mistakes in stats. 🙂
