It’s always a joy to hear from 1990 US Open singles champion Gabriela Sabatini. An elegant and stylish player, Gabby won 27 singles titles, including 1 Major at the US Open, and 14 doubles titles, including 1 Major at Wimbledon 1991. Her stellar career earned her a spot in the International Tennis Hall of Fame. The folks at BNP Paribas caught up with Gabby to chat about her life now. She’s still incredibly fit, having taken up cycling and swimming. And her perfume line is still doing well. She was a favorite of mine in the late 80s and early 90s. I will always remember her upset of Steffi Graf at the 1990 US Open. Best wishes always to Gabriela!
Sabatini was a very charming tennis player who achieved a lot and inspired many Latin American kids to pick up tennis…I also love this article written by Armand Colson:

Well said. And I also recommend that article. I didn’t know about the Steffi Graf Foundation and its work with families and children affected by war, persecution and violence. Thanks for the link. 🙂
