Suzann Pettersen Leads 2012 LPGA KEB-Hana Bank Championship After 2nd Round

Welcome back, Suzann! Ok, the great golfer Suzann Pettersen hasn’t really gone anywhere. However, compared to what she’s done on the LPGA Tour previous to 2012, it seemed this year would be bereft of championship hardware. Maybe not. After 2 LPGA wins, 1 Ladies European Tour win and, along with Sophie Gustafson, leading Europe to a Solheim Cup win in 2011, Suzann is one round away from adding another trophy to her sterling resume if she can maintain her 2nd round lead at the 2012 LPGA KEB-Hana Bank Championship. Put simply, it’s her tournament to win or lose. No disrepect to 2nd place So Yeon Ryu or the trio of Yani Tseng, Sandra Gal and Hall of Famer Se Ri Pak tied for 3rd, but with Suzann at 13-under, 5 shots ahead of Ryu and 6 shots ahead of Tseng, Gal and Pak, anything other than a win would be a disappointment. On a personal level, I am a fan of all 5 of those players, but I would be thrilled to see So Yeon Ryu or Se Ri Pak stage the big comeback to steal victory.
