Petra Kvitova, Sara Errani Reach 2013 Dubai Final

Former WTA Player of the Year Petra Kvitova used her aggressive play to defeat former world #1 Caroline Wozniacki 6-3 6-4 to reach the final of the 2013 Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships. It’s good to see Petra get on a roll here (albeit without Vika and Serena in the draw), especially against arguably the two best defensive players on tour, Agnieszka Radwanska and Caro, beating them in back to back matches. Kvitova will face another great defensive player in 2012 Roland Garros finalist Sara Errani. It was a tough semifinal for Sara, not because of the match, which she won 6-3 6-3, but because she was playing a great friend and countrywoman, Roberta Vinci. As I always say with Petra, it depends on what game she brings. If she is at her best, I think she’s the most talented player on tour and can beat anybody. However, if she comes out error-prone she can get bounced by anybody, and especially Errani, who will keep getting ball after ball back, taking advantage of any impatient shot-making from Petra. If Petra is sharp, she wins. If not…she can still win, but it opens the door for Sara.
