I expect big things from Danielle Kang. Let’s face it, a lot of fans who follow women’s golf closely do. After all, she is a two-time US Women’s Amateur chmapion, the first to win it in back to back years (2010, 2011) since Kelli Kuehne (1995, 1996). The fact that she torched Moriya Jutanugarn, one of my favorites, 6 & 5 in the 2011 final…well, I guess I can forgive that! 🙂 Proving that she can take her game on the road, Danielle was also the low amateur at the 2011 Women’s British Open and finished 2nd at the 2010 Canadian Women’s Amateur. She had a decent rookie year on the LPGA Tour in 2012, finishing 5th on the points list for Rookie of the Year. However, success for Danielle will be measured in wins and top 10s. Not everybody comes on tour and lights it up immediately like Nancy Lopez, Se Ri Pak and Paula Creamer. Give her time to strengthen her game and mental approach. She talks briefly about losing focus (“zoning out” as she says), in this little soundbite. Don’t worry about the Korean language voice-over at the beginning, Danielle’s bit is in English. She shows up both near the beginning of the video and at the end.
