Victoria Azarenka Advances To Final Of 2013 Internazionali BNL d’Italia (Rome), Serena Williams Awaits

I am a huge Maria Sharapova fan, but it seems that if anyone can give Serena Williams any competition it would be a healthy Victoria Azarenka. Don’t get me wrong, Serena is clearly the best until somebody can consistently beat her. The point isn’t to take anything away from the great Serena. She’s awesome. What is lacking though is the sense of competition. It’s ok for there to be a dominant player. There always has been. However, when Serena just torches Masha easily in a final, it’s a letdown. So what I look for from Vika is not necessarily even a win or even a 3-setter. If she loses or goes down in 2 sets, at least make them competitive sets. I expect Serena to win if she’s in the draw. I just don’t want to see a string of blowout finals. Vika beat Serena the last time they played, so with Azarenka reaching the 2013 Internazionali BNL d’Italia (Rome), she’s a live underdog as the betters would say. Serena should win, but I expect a fight out of Vika…maybe she’ll even give us more.
