Sometimes a player has to go through the crucible to get their first win. When they do finally emerge victorious, the emotions pour out. So it was with Yoon Kyung Heo, having to erase the memories of a handful of past KLPGA bridesmaid finishes and a 4 player playoff at the 2013 Woori Investment & Securities Ladies Championship to finally kiss her first Korean LPGA trophy. Tied at 9-under with Ha Na Jang, Jung Eun Lee and Hyun Min Pyun at the end of regulation play on a wet day at the Lakeside Country Club in Yongin, South Korea, Yoon Kyung girded herself for sudden death elimination. It took only one extra hole to decide matters. Heo dropped in a 10 foot birdie putt to strike first, awaiting the birdie tries of the others. None of them could convert. It was a moment of tears and triumph for Yoon Kyung Heo, and one would be wise to suspect not to be the last for this latest of KLPGA champions.
