Morgan Pressel Leads After 2nd Round Of 2013 Wegmans LPGA Championship

Morgan Pressel (click to enlarge)

Morgan Pressel continues to impress at the 2013 Wegmans LPGA Championship, finishing her 2nd round as the leader at 6-under through 36 holes. She was hitting greens with beautiful shots, like a well struck hybrid on the 14th hole on her approach shot to 4 feet or her tee shot on the par 3 15th to 6 feet. Both shots led to birdies. Is it a coincidence that the last time Morgan led after 36 holes was at a non-Major Wegmans event on this same course in 2008? It’s good to be comfortable in your surroundings, especially with a marathon 36-hole Odyssey coming up on Sunday. Morgan has 2 LPGA Tour wins and 1 JLPGA win. Of those 3 wins, she has 1 LPGA Major and 1 JLPGA Major. Maybe Morgan saves her best for the biggest stages. Hopefully, they will get all 36 remaining holes in on Sunday and we’ll see if Morgan adds another Major victory to her trophy case.

  2. Tough battle but ‘m hopeful Pressel will prevail. Some great players in the mix so it won’t be easy.

    • As it looks now, it looks to be a battle of Major winners. Typing now, the top five are Inbee Park, Morgan, Jiyai Shin, Sun Young Yoo and Na Yeon Choi…all Major winners.
