Grace Park
This week the LPGA Tour makes its stop in Incheon, South Korea for the 2013 LPGA KEB HanaBank Championship. There are a lot of storylines this week. Will Suzann Pettersen defend her title? Will Lexi Thompson make it back to back wins? Will one of the local KLPGA players rise up and surprise everybody like Jee Young Lee and Jin Joo Hong did in past years? However, for me the one storyline I will watch above all others is the return of Grace Park. Last year, Grace Park retired from professional golf at the 2012 Wegmans LPGA Championship. It was a sad announcement for all of her fans.
She’s coming back for one tournament only, so that she can say goodbye on the course to all of her Korean fans. Grace won this event in 2004 when it was called the CJ Nine Bridges Classic. Grace Park is the reason I am as huge a fan of the LPGA as I am today. Although she has left the game, I must thank her for giving me that gift.
