Team USA Trails 2 to 4 As First Day Match Play Suspended At 2015 Solheim Cup

When play is suspended due to darkness with Team USA trailing Team Europe 2 points to 4 points…not to mention after Europe’s Carlota Ciganda hit the shot of the day with an eagle from 135 yards out to even the match between her and partner Melissa Reid against Team USA’s Lexi Thompson and Cristie Kerr…it might feel like things are going off the rails from the start for the Americans at Solheim 2015. But as Aaron Rodgers told Green Bay Packers fans early last season…relax. Don’t get me wrong, minimally Cristie and Lexi need to halve the 18th hole to get at least half a point. Ideally, they could win the hole for a full point. Gerina Piller and Brittany Lang still have 3 holes left to come back from 1 down against Caroline Masson and Sandra Gal. It will tough, of course. It’s Solheim Cup. Winning it isn’t supposed to be easy. Those are the matches still pending. Europe and the USA split the morning foursomes at 2 points each. So far, Europe is dominating the following fourball match results. But even if the Americans lose the pending fourball matches, I still have faith that they will come out strongly on days 2 and 3.
