Team USA Trails As Darkness Suspends Play On Day 2 Of Solheim Cup, But In Position For Comeback

A lot of things might be going wrong for Team USA at Solheim Cup 2015. They trailed 3 points to 5 after day 1 matches were complete. They had a less than stellar 1-3 showing in morning matches on day 2. They trail 5 points to 8 as darkness suspended play on day 2. However, they are 1-up in 2 of the 3 remaining day 2 matches to be completed on day 3. If they can hold those two matches they would minimally have 7 points with the other match where they are 1-down not out of reach. Obviously, that’s counting on fate to favor the Americans, but why not? Stacy Lewis, who with Gerina Piller is currently 1-up on Team Europe’s two Carolines (Masson & Hedwall), is beginning to find her groove at Solheim. So is Alison Lee, who with Brittany Lincicome is 1-up on Suzanne Pettersen and Charley Hull. Look, it’s not good to be down 5 to 8, but I still believe Team USA is in great position to mount the comeback.
