It’s wonderful to see rising American star Madison Keys make the final at the 2016 Internazional BNL d’Italia (Rome). After an injury in the round of 16 contributed greatly to halting a promising run at the 2016 Australian Open, it’s been an up and down year for Maddie. But I fully believe it’s just a matter of time before the uber-talented 21-year old puts it all together. After wins over 3rd seed Garbine Muguruza, 5th seed Petra Kvitova and Andrea Petkovic, maybe her run to the final in Rome is the turning point. Whether she wins or loses against Serena Williams to me isn’t the biggest point. I just wish that she goes out there and doesn’t give Serena the match before a shot is hit. Williams deserves respect, but don’t give her TOO MUCH respect. Maddie should go out there and regardless of what happens believe that this is her moment. This is her time. If Maddies wins, fantastic. If not, just look at it as a temporary bump in the road on the way to inevitable success.
