Roland Garros 2017 presents a great opportunity for Romanian star Simona Halep. Not only is she one of the top favorites to win the title, if she does she will rise to the world #1 ranking. Of the 32 seeded women’s players who don’t have a Major title in singles already, Simona’s 15 singles championships are exceeded only by Caroline Wozniacki (25 titles) and Agnieszka Radwanska (20). Nobody wants to known as the best player without a Major. Halep defeated Tatjana Maria 6-4 6-3 in round two of Roland Garros 2017 to take another step to shedding that moniker. But the path to winning this event gets considerably more challenging in round three as Simona will face the rising talent Daria Kasatkina. Dasha is capable of taking out Halep. However, if Simona brings something close to her A game to each match, it will be tough for anybody to stop her from being the last woman standing.
