Simona Halep’s big win at the 2015 BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells has propelled the world #3 to 2nd place on the WTA Tour Money List at this early stage of the season. The 23-year old Romanian star also has the season tournament titles lead at 3. It’s only March, but look out for what could be a big season for Halepeño. It could also be a big year in doubles for Martina Hingis, who returns to the top 5. With the top doubles team of Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci ending their partnership, there is an opening for Martina Hingis and Sania Mirza to rise to the top. In fact, even if Errani and Vinci had stayed together the new team of Hingis and Mirza was a threat to topple them anyway.
