Caroline Wozniacki reached the semifinals of the 2013 AEGON International with a 4-6 6-0 6-3 win over Ekaterina Makarova. As I wrote yesterday, for most of the top players I don’t put much stock in needing to win this, so Maria Kirilenko and Li Na getting bounced out isn’t so terrible. Just a few extra days rest for Wimbledon. But I think Caroline could use a good win right now. Up next is Jamie Hampton, a rising American who took out Agnieszka Radwanska in the 1st round. If Jamie can beat Aga, she can certainly beat Caro. However, if Wozniacki can reach back a little to find a semblance of the form she once had when she was the top player in the world, she should advance.
