I was originally not going to post about the JLPGA this week, in the aftermath of last week’s KKT Cup Vantelin Ladies Open being canceled due to the Kumamoto earthquake. It just felt like golf wasn’t the first thing with which to be concerned. But at the very least I would like to congratulate the wonderfully talented Shiho Oyama for her win at the 2016 Fujisankei Ladies Classic. I can’t let such a JLPGA legend, who now owns 17 titles on the Japanese tour, go without an acknowledgement of her continued greatness. That’s especially true on a day when she shined brightly with a 4-under 68 round to come from behind and capture a 1-shot victory at 11-under.

i believe shiho oyama donated her entire prize money for the kuramoto earthquake relief effort
Really? Wow, I like her even more now! 😊
I saw some pictures where a lot of the girls on the JLPGA were doing things for the earthquake relief effort. my heart goes out to all who are suffering due to the earthquakes and my congratulations to Shiho Oyama with a big win
The women’s golf pro players communities around the world are filled with great people. Of course, I’d prefer not to have to see the JLPGA players have to come together for earthquake or tsunami relief, but when it’s needed they answer the call.
I agree. I appreciate their efforts and continue to cheer for them and thanks for the awesome coverage of the JLPGA
